Information and fundraising priorities

1.Increase income and support

Fund-raising is aimed at income growth that is in line with the estimated growth in aid. In essence, this means we should strive for a yearly increase of 10% in our own fund-raising. This would mean a total of over 14 million euros for 2010. In order to be able to finance the estimated growth of basic facilities, we are striving to extend government funding and continue cooperating with companies, foundations and non profit organizations. Besides this, we are looking for additional sources of income.

The intended growth in income requires broader support. Consequently, over the next few years, the Liliane Foundation will be working to promote itself even further and gradually expand its donor base.

2.Presentation

The Liliane Foundation will present itself even more clearly as ‘The Special Foundation for Children and Adolescents with a Disability in Developing Countries’. Our unique and effective working method has an important place in that presentation.

New initiatives

In order to be able to raise the necessary funds, new initiatives will be taken. Effectiveness and growth of fund-raising require creativity, responsible assertiveness and careful consideration. Also, new markets will be approached and modern communication channels will increasingly be used. The most important of these modes is the Internet, which will be used to keep donors and sponsors informed on how their donations are spent.

Donations form an important part of the income from fund-raising, followed by income from inheritances. We prefer a more active fund-raising approach when it comes to inheritances and legacies. We bring to the public’s attention that people can help children with a disability in developing countries gain a future if they include the Liliane Foundation in their wills and we consequently inform them about different ways of doing this.
