WESLEY AGENGO:
A Test of Will
 

In the beginning Wesley had to make a lot of major adjustments. The culture was diffrent, the lifestyle was difficult and the language, adapt to the culture and adjust to the lifestyle. Today Wesley is one of the most reliable students in the school.

He has adjusted very well. He has taken on extra responsiblities. He is assigned to take care of the school's electrical facilities, water pump station and mowing of the school grounds. He also assists in Sunday scholl avtivities.

The most valuablelessons he learned from his life with DEAF Inc. Laguna are faith, cooperation and dedlication the knowledge and values he learned.

In July 2001, our DEAF Inc. School in Laguna welcomed Wesley Angengo as the newest member of the student body .
He came from a western province in Kenya, East of Africa. Wesley was sent by a former DEAF Inc. staff who established a Deaf School near his homeland.

Wesley comes from a family who relies purely on farming as their source of living in kenya. Being the second of seven children, he was tasked to help siblings. This was his lfe in kenya but Wesley had dreams. He wanted to finish his studies but his family could not afford his college education. With sheer determaination he landed a job with the Deaf School run by a former DEAF Inc. staff, Gloria Catolico-Okillo. for one year and a half he worked as assistant teacher. This ushered his new dedication to the hearing-imparied.

Impressed with Wesley's determination and devotion to teaching he was sent to the Laguna School for further impovementof his skills and knowledge.

 
 
Dancing For God  

Bakket is an expression of Lynne's love for her parents and the appreciation of those who believe in her talent. It is her way to celebrate God's faithfullness to her. Her biggest dream is to her has the love for dance.

Her body movements beautifully synchronize with the music. She glides on stage like she being carried by th ewind. She performs with such energy, gracefully twirling and turning for the worl to see. Jaero Lynne Lising is a 19 years old ballerina. She is deaf.

While pregnant woth Lynne, her mother contracted German measles. Lynne was born with a hearing diasability and cataracts but her condition did not discourage he parents in any way. Seeing their daughters's love fo ballet, they enrolled her in school at the age of five.
