Physiatrist Tests for preliminary pediatric evaluation to determine the proper management of and treatment for each client.

Physical Therapy activities are aimed to maintain, restore and improve the general physical condition of CWDs. Treatment sessions, which last from one to one and a half hours, are usually conducted twice a week. Activities include:

Joint range of motion and stretching exercises

Muscle strengthening exercises
-
Neurodevelopmental techniques to restore or develop normal muscle tone in order to achieve postural control

Application of physical modalities such as heat and cold packs, icing, electrical stimulation as well as hydrotherapy techniques.

Occupational Therapy provides modified activities aimed to attain the highest level of independence in performing daily tasks despite the child’s condition. Treatment sessions are done once a week and monthly Group Therapy sessions are given for the children to work in a group while doing task-oriented activities. Treatment techniques used include:

Sensory integration therapy

Gross and fine motor skills training

Activities of Daily Living skills training
