STACQC started in 1996 as a joint project of KAMPI and PTU under the project Breaking Barriers for Children (BBC). It was funded by the Danish Foreign Ministry (DANIDA). However, as per project design, the Danish funds had stopped after BBC Project was completed in 2002. The STACenter - Quezon City was turned over to the STAC Parents Association (STAC-PA).
