To deny the recognition of natural sign language is to deny the identity of deaf people.

Deaf people have the right to:

  • Change the structure of sign language

  • Communicate with each other through natural sign language

  • Access to public services such as education and employment placement

Deaf people are the ones that use sign language everyday of their life.

Filipino Sign Language gives Deaf Filipino the freedom to express or develop their:

  • Views/opinions

  • Ideas

  • Emotions

  • Skills and knowledge

Philippines, like most Asia and the Pacific have no official document of their own natural sign languages. Sign language are different from country to country.
