History
The House With No Steps Foundation (Phils.), Inc., non-stock, non-profit organiztion was organized in 1984 in response to the growing demand for a more coordinated and systematic delivery of welfare services to the clients of Tahanang Walang Hagdanan, Inc. (TWH) and is affilate home in Metro Manila and in the provinces.
There was also the need to separate the welfare services component lf TWH which was estanlished basically as industrial workshop and training center for the disabled. The idea then was to allocate the funds exclusively donated for welfare for the very purpose it was donated, The House With No Steps Foundation was the answer to that need.
Two years after its establishment, the scope of the welfare program had expanded to service the needs of numerous homes for the disabled affiliated with the Philippine Council of Cheshire Homes for the Disabled (PhilCOCHED), Wheelchair and Disabled Foundation of the Philippines, (WDFP). At present the Fonndation is directly operating and managing six of these Cheshire Homes.
This organization is duly registered with Securities and Exchange Commission of the Philippines, and certified by Department of Science and Technology as a science foundation. It is also registered with the Bureau of Internal Revenue as a qualified donee with Registry No. 0408. It is an active member of the Association of Foundations.
