The NCWDP Puppet Show “Mga Bata sa Pook Munting Ningning” wowed the mall’s shoppers and visitors with a talent show featuring negative Hansenite rapper Ryan Gomez, artist Joey San Juan, deaf sign language trainor Ate Liza Halili, capped by their “Pinoy Big Brother” finale. Also played for the public was the NCWDP instructional sign language CD top billing popular songs interpreted by deaf artists Dennis Balan and Charo Fernando.
In the closing ceremonies, TESDA and NCWDP officials congratulated all the participants and awarded medals of excellence to all those who scored 500 and above. Director Marta Hernandez announced that all the events’ top raters would be fielded in the 7 th International Abilympics 2007 in Japan after an intensive training next year.
Director Washington Agustin, Chairperson of the PNSC National Organizing Committee commended all the regional contenders and the partners/organizers who worked together to mount the PNSC. He also thanked Abilympics Philippines for the leadership and full support. For manning the PNSC Abilympics category back-to-back with TESDA, he was also very grateful. Last but not the least, TESDA and NCWDP thanked the DSWD and DILG and the local government units and groups who jointly shelled out and mobilized resources and accompanied their delegates to the 3 simultaneous contest venues.
Mr., Philip Torres, Jury President for Photography contest and official of the PNSC-NOC and instrumental in Robinson’s Place’s generous hosting of the project, thanked everyone concerned for putting up a good competition in spite of the odds in the beginning. He believes that out of the competition, the country could mount a good team for Japan, based on the talents shown by the competitors.
Mrs. de Jesus on behalf of NCWDP Director Catalina L. Fermin thanked all experts and guests and staff who worked very hard to make the competition a success. She also thanked and acknowledged the support of Abilympics Philippines inc. who helped NCWDP supply the uniforms of all the Jury Presidents, experts, Judges, Contestants and interpreters for the 3-day activities. TESDA likewise thanked Robinson’s Place for hosting the events, which generated a big public awareness. Assisting her and Director Marta Hernandez in the awarding of medals were NCWDP Chiefs Zaldy Sanchez and Mr. Andy Ravelo, Jr.
