Out of 135 registrants, 87 competitors with disabilities from various regions participated in the Opening Ceremony held at Robinson’s Place, Pioneer, and Mandaluyong City. The “12th Philippine National Skills Competition (PNSC) ABILYMPICS” is a joint project of TESDA, DSWD, NCWDP, DILG and local government units. This is to showcase the work excellence of Pinoys with disabilities in a competitive setup and to select the competitors for the 7th International Abilympics slated in Shizuoka, Japan in November 2007.

The PNSC-ABILYMPICS kicked off with the heads of partner agencies declaring the events open. The officials include: TESDA Deputy Director general for Field Operations Santiago Yabut, Director Washington Agustin, Abilympics Philippines Chairperson Begoña B. Ortigas who also represented AP Chairperson Rosie Lovely T. Romulo and NCWDP Executive Director Catalina L. Fermin.
