General Policies

GENERAL POLICIES

Serving as the lead agency in the country's participation at the international level, API forged a Memorandum of Agreement with its partners to spell out their roles from the selection, team organization, training, actaul fielding, documentation, and project evaluation. It also adheres to the policies an guidelines set by the International Abilympics Federation (IAF). For this purpose, it heads the Steering Commitee and serves as the advisory board to the Abilympics National Technical Committee represented by the partner agencies.

Members of the National Abilympics Steering Committee (NASC) in addition to the Abilympics Philippines' Board of Directors include the Secretaries/Heads or top-level officials of the collaborating agencies. The Abilympics National Technical Committee (ANTC) is composed of the Technical representatives of the partner agencies.

As the lead body in charge of the international participation, it also embarks on a continuous resource mobilization in preparation for the competition every four years.

As a rule, API takes charge of the traditional courtesy call and Presidentalial recognition of international winners at the Malacanang Palace. This includes seeing to it that due cash incentives and awards are given the PWD winners at par with other international winners in other fields such as sports and others.

Please see MOA and other policies/guidelines in the Annexes.

Monitoring and Evaluating/Reporting

The Abilympics Philippines conducts periodic monitoring of its past winners to ensure progress and provide necessary/approriate backup towards sustained productivity of the PWD workers/group they have committed to support. Very soon, it will publish a booklet of "Success Stories of Abilympics Champions" to serve as mavericks and inspiration to other young and "would-be" competitors and rich media reference.

It also submits annual report to the President through the NCWDP Board and its collaborating agencies. In the audience to the President during courtesy call in Malacanang, which usually caps every IA participation, the team presents the Foundation's accomplishment reports.
